It is really difficult to wean off opiates without help. Detox treatment at an inpatient facility is the best way to go. And then it can be really helpful to attend an outpatient program to learn ways to stay clean and sober. It's not an easy road.

Keep trying different NA meetings. There are alot of different meetings out there.

Hang in there.

Thank you for responding. Sometimes it helps just to know that there are people out there who can understand.

I know how you feel, i am addicted to opiates too and I have yet to find a place to go for help. I have experienced withdrawal and had flu-like syptoms for up to a week, I guess depends on a person's weight, usage,a dn dosage. I feel like I can't function without pills and I am starting to get scared that I may never get off them.

phillydave, I wish someone with more experience with opiates would reply. All I can say is try different na meetings. There will be someone that can relate to what you are going through.

My problem is alcohol and it is a constant struggle. A day doesn't go by where I don't have to battle it. I know in my heart I will eventually be able to deal with it.

Don't give up. It took years to get a hooked.

Having been weening down from 24mg of Suboxone since Feb of this year. Had four weeks on 2 mg that ended a 8 days ago.

My guts still feel shredded right now. I didn't think that stopping at 2 would be so painful. I should have did 1 mg and then .5 but my doctor didn't know any better and advised to stop at 2. I talked with him this week and he wanted me to go back on 1 mg but I am @#$%%%$ done with this life of servitude to opiates.

Its been a long 4 year road.

Went to my first NA meeting last night. Felt very out of place.

I think I will try a different one tonight.

Man, when does this intestinal/stomach pain go away????

I have to get to work monday no matter what....
