The only requirement is a desire to stop using...it really does'nt matter what others think after all,you and only you know how far down the path of hell your life has gone and what steps you need to take to get your life back on track...AA is not as judgemental as it was 10yrs ago...however out of respect for the fellowship it's only fair that you identify yourself as a alcoholic..remember to remain open minded and relate not compare..the one thing I know for sure anyone seeking help will not be turned away.....KEEP IT SIMPLE..Just for today & stay

Question about AA meetings

Post by stonesober » Sun Aug 17, 2008 11:57 am

Hi, I have been advised by my therapist to go to AA meetings. I have an addiction to weed. I want to know if I would be welcomed by AA members or would they feel resentment or think it's not a big deal... as some still believe you can't get addicted to weed. I can say for sure, it can become an addiction! I guess I'm afraid to go not knowing if I will be warmly received or not. I welcome any comments from those familiar to AA meetings.
