i was clean from 93 to 2008. the 2nd time is harder and its for percs/herion this time. my biggest problem is people places and things and idle time. i did a halfway house back in 93 and replaced good habits with bad. basically did what i didn't want to do and did what i was told to do. not my will ya get me? this time i'm fighting it. does that mean i'm not done yet? i guess i answered my own question. i want to be but i could use a good kick in the ass. i need help with my motivation to do the right things. any suggestions to just getting out the door and making that meeting instead of just thinking about it would help. i don't have a sober buddy this time and it makes it easier for me to hide away and stay in my form of denial. any suggestions at all would help. my addiction has a good hold of me this time around with the percs/herion.

I was addicted to percodin for several years in the 1980's. I went into my first and only detox. Needless to say it was a miserable experience. I do not think I would have been able to deal at home by myself. The best thing to come out of it was my being directed to NA and AA meetings at the end of the detox. I did just that and have been drug and alcohol free since 1986.I was 30 years old when I began recovery. I am 57 now and I still attend meetings. I have no urge, desire, interest or need to do drugs or drink. There was a period of about 12 years where I did not attend meetings it did not cause me to relapse but my life was not the quality I had become accustomed to when I participated regularly.

I was on methadone for 10 years and it was very difficult to got off and nearly impossible to ween yourself off that never worked for my my best advice and this is what I did is to stop cold turkey for 48 hours it will be hard and u will feel like death but after go to the doctor and get suboxine then just take 1/4 of the film they give u a day for at least a month after that then just stop cold turkey again and again u will feel like shit for another 48 hours but it won't be that bad then u will be completely off opioids and that's when u might have to go to NA meetings, u should go to them cause the erg to take the pills will always be with u

I've been on percocet 7.5 mg 6x a day for 5 months. Now I'm on 5mg percs 4-6x a day plus 4 ibuprofen. How hard do u think it'll be to ween off the percs? I know it's not a very long time to be on them but I'm still worried. I've expressed my concern to the docs but they say it won't be a problem. I've had issues before with percs. I was never on them this steadily though.
