Dear Coming Back,
I was sober for over 20 years and I had been given so many gifts in sobriety. I finished college, went to graduate school, got married, had children and I very slowly got away from meetings. It tok several years but I eventually drank again and over time my life again became unmanagable. Thank God .I came back to the rooms a little over 3 years ago. Yes it is hard to go back but please take this opportunity to get back to the program. My experience was that people welcomed me with loving arms and supported me all the way. Put your ego aside and go reach out. This is a cunning, baffling, powerful disease which will kill you. I have found that my relapse has taught me very valuable information and I can help others by sharing what happened to me when i forgot and didn't put my recovery first!! I will pray for you.
