It's ok, Jeff. Generally, whenever you are following the directions of a professional, you're doing fine. The Big Book talks about how we used to be our own "Professionals" (Doctor/Pshrink/Therapist/etc.), and we prescribed for ourselves as we felt our symptoms indicated. Long as your turning it over to a 'real' Professional you are maintaining sobriety and trying to take care of yourself...

Feel free to talk it over with your sponsor, too.

Here's some general rules I've been told that make sense to me:

Don't hesitate to tell your Dr. you are in recovery.
Follow directions.
Let your sponsor/AA-friend(s) know what medications you have been prescribed.

My definition of a "slip" is when I "Prescribe" a drink or drug to myself. Hope this helps...

I'M under a Doctors care and using Perscripton Medication I feel guilty. I haven,t done anything the doctor said I couldn,t.
