Dealing w Regaining psych & emotions after Drug Addiction

Post by APIP » Sun Apr 14, 2013 9:52 pm

I am interested in attending meetings, as I have been off of narcotic medications for almost 5 months, that were used for pain management (prescribed by 1 doctor). I still have the pain but I deal with it the best I can although it's realIy difficult at times. I made the plan to taper off my meds and to eliminate them from my life, as I realized on my own that I was not living a productive life and living up to my potential. I know myself well enough to know I will never go back on the meds, that is not my issue. I'm having difficulty readjusting to the "normal" things in life (psychological, emotional & physical). For example, I see that my coping & rationalization skills, prioritization of important tasks, etc. are a little "off" & am having difficulty finding people who can relate and help me figure these things out to progress in my recovery.
