My mom has been sober for 3 weeks now and today my mom and dad went for a annual physical. Now my dad is in the hospital because of heart conditions. I am afraid that this will set my mom back ten steps. She was a chronic alcoholic for 30 years. I am an hour or so away from them and I feel helpless. I am also afraid becuase this is her first night home alone. Things are supposed to be getting better and I feel like they are making a turn for the worst.

hey lala0554, that sounds like a setback and 3 weeks is not a long time. do you know if she went to a meeting tonight? a support system is so important in her situation. did you get to talk to her? life throws crazy stuff at you when all you need is peace to get better.
