Did you know my father?

Hello, my name is Cheryl and I live in Chicago but I am from NE Philadelphia. My father died on November 7, 2000. I will not post his last name, because I'm not sure if AA ettiquette allows that. He was 61 when he died.
The reason for this post is that I wanted to see if anyone out there remembers my father, as he was a long time AA member.
Although he asked me many times, I never attended a meeting to watch him speak. I guess I didn't want to relive painful memories of our lives before he quit drinking. Now I regret that.
My father died when I was 24 and just really starting to get to know him as an adult. I know that there are probably alot of things I dont' know about him, and maybe never will.
If you knew him, or think you knew him, please contact me. Any stories you might be able to share would be greatly appreciated, and might help just a little to ease the pain of losing my father way too soon.

Cheryl, unfortunately I needed to delete some of your message. I think you can you understand why we cannot allow names or emails to be displayed on the message board. There is no way to confirm.

I would suggest that you go to some of the meetings that your father went to. And stay around and talk to some people there.

I wish you the best of luck.

John

Hey Cheryl, your email address probably indicated your last name, and the admin doesn't want any last name mentioned on the messageboard for privacy purposes. You should get a new email address using a pseudo and then repost your message. I'm sure people who remember your father will be happy to get in touch with you.
