hey im karena and i am a heroin addict. I contracted a pretty serious infection from being an iv heroin user. I had endocarditis which means i had an infection in one of my heart valves. I was in the ICU for 6 weeks. My liver, kidneys, lungs, and heart were failing. I had a half of one percent chance of surviving all of the the particular infection that I had. i came out of that and I still went out and shot up heroin. I've been using heroin since I got out of the the hospital. I am not at the point where I am physically addicted to heroin but it's obviously a problem if I'm still willing to use so freely. I really want to get my life together and continue going back to college but I am struggling. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much
