Dear New Comer,
I pretty new too, but have been coming into the rooms since Sept 1, 2010.
Wherever you are, please get online and find out where the AA meetings are and go! Go to as many meetings as you can fit into your schedule.
Put your hand up when you go or when people greet you and say hi before the meeting or during the break, and tell them you are new and that you need help.
People are usually happy to help you if you only let them know what you need. Keep you chin up.
You have made the first most important step, admitted to yourself that you think you need help.
Go to meetings.
Get a sponsor (another woman, who will help guide you and help you find your way), at least a temporary one ASAP.
Get a list or lists of other women in the program.
Call them, every day.
Good luck. You are exactly where you are supposed to be. If you want what we have (sobriety) and are willing to go to any length to get it, you WILL succeed. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Best,
Deirdre
