meetings

Unread postby Michaelpt » Tue Feb 15, 2011 8:29 am

I am moving out to Greentown, PA(18426). I looked online for a meeting list in that area and cannot find one meeting?! The site I used http://www.sobrietyonline.org only allows a search of up to 15 miles. I chose other large cities in the area and still no meetings...Stroudsburg, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton...hmmm I type in my old town(King of Prussia and 113 meetings came up. Anyone know of a way to do a search for meetings within a larger radius?

Call your local AA. They will have meeting information that is up to date.

The website you have listed isn't AA itself, you might try the AA website.

I don't know why, but I have such a hard time going to meetings. I am going to intensive outpatient right now and it helps. But I am supposed to go to three meetings a week, and I making one, thats if I can get motivated. It is scaring me because I know if I don't work the program I wont stay sober! I guess what Im trying to say, is i am having a hard time pushing myself. I have almost 30 days sober, Early recovery is very hard!

I don't know Greentown, but I live in the Poconos and can help there. Try http://www.poconointergroupaa.org. If you're an early bird, I highly recommend the 6:30am meeting.

And the suggestion about calling AA is a good one, there has to be something nearby... Hope this helps.
