suboxone withdrawal

Unread postby wrdallas » Fri Sep 21, 2012 1:04 pm

Having been on opiates for many years I finally gave them up with the help of suboxone. But now I'm having some major problems trying to get off the suboxone. I've been on it for over 2 years and it's almost as bad a withdrawal as the painkillers. I really could use some suggestions. I've been going to NA meetings, made 10 meetings in 10 days. Today would have been 11 but the church I went to for a listed NA meeting was closed and after several of us waited around for awhile we all just dispersed. Bummer! Have to wait until later tonite.

I am on - soboxone as well, but kind of, not by choice. I waited 5 months to get an appt w/ the psych and when I got there, he asked me if I was there for sob???? I said NO. He did not understand and asked - why was I there????? I told him I had terrible depression, for years, had just gotten out of rehab for tramadol, ultram abuse and wanted to straighten out my anti depressant and get some counseling. He told me that he highly recommended I go on sob. I told him I thought that was a horrible idea, as I had heard of people in rehab to get off of it, and I did not want to be addicted to something else. He went on. I really think you should be on sob. You should be on sob. I definitely think you should be on sob. I finally said I would try it. Now..............2 years later, I do not want to be on sob, and am pissed that I know it is a huge withdrawal process. I do not understand prescribing an addictive drug to an addict.
