Day 2 of sobriety

Unread postby Lis0103 » Thu Aug 21, 2014 11:58 am

I decided yesterday that I am going to be sober. I have a good friend of mine that is going to help me through it thankfully, but I also came onto this site for extra support. I'm 31 years old and I've waited too long to do this. I have too much to lose. I need to change my whole life around for me and my son. I'm terrified, but hopeful & excited. I will be attending my first meeting this weekend. I'm nervous. I just wish that I could have a few drinks like most people. I just want to be happy with every decision that I make from now on and not feel remorse & grief.

Wonderful! Making the decision is veryyyy brave and courageous. Best gift you could have ever given your son.

Jimmyc80,
I hope you are doing okay. I haven't logged on here in a while. Things will get better! Like someone said to me... This is the best decision you could make for yourself and your child. Hang in there :) I'm here to chat if you need to!
